Shared Hosting
Beyond basic Michigan web hosting, dedicated servers allow more complex applications. Because you have control of the entire server, down to the operating system, you are assured of 100% of the server's CPU power. You can make modifications to the OS that would not normally be possible with basic web hosting.
Dedicated Servers
With dedicated server hosting a client leases an entire server from the provider. This frees the client from having to purchase and maintain the physical hardware. Different dedicated server providers offer a range of software support.
A dedicated server differs from colocation in that the server hardware is owned by the provider. Unlike a virtual private server, or other shared hosting options, a dedicated server is not shared by more than one client.
Dedicated servers are hosted in a data center, a facility designed and built specifically for servers and networking equipment. A data center will provide cooling, security, backup power systems, and Internet connectivity for a dedicated server.
